Indigo Children
Q: I've been hearing a lot about "Indigo children." Could you tell me Indigo children are, and how long they've been around? I never heard of all of these "kinds" of children before! From what little I've read, it seems that they are a mysterious, special kind of child. Thanks for your thoughts.
A: 'Indigo children' is a New Age concept that began with a 1982 book by Nancy Ann Tappe, Understanding Your Life Through Color. Supposedly, these children have "paranormal" abilities, such as reading peoples' minds, seeing peoples' auras - the energy around their bodies, predicting the future, and so forth. When tested under strict laboratory conditions the children cannot replicate these skills. Continued...
