Content: This is an overview talk about the issues surrounding Attention Deficit Disorder, ADD, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, and other child psychiatric diseases. This talk has two goals: 1. to inform the professional and regular communities about the real facts surrounding these psychiatric disorders, and 2. to introduce the audience to the award winning, successful and highly popular Caregivers’ Skills Program.
Topics: Three Topics will be covered:
1. Unraveling the real scoop on the growing epidemic of childhood psychiatric diseases.
• How the disease research is being misrepresented, and what the real facts are.
• How the research is being used by the pharmaceutical companies to convince the professional community and the public of the necessity of using psychiatric drugs.
2. Learning the truth about psychiatric drugs.
• What the drugs are.
• How the drugs really work, and how there is misleading information that they correct chemical imbalances.
• What the health risks of these drugs are to the developing brains and bodies of children.
• What abuse and addiction really mean, and is your child at risk?
3. An introduction to the Caregivers’ Skills Program, the CSP.
• Learn why currently popular behavioral treatments don’t work, and why there is such a reliance on drugs to constrain children’s behaviors.
